I Chronicles 9 expresses the purpose of gatekeepers and porters, which are known today as ushers.  The Usher Ministry, as during the Levitical times, is one that warmly invites both members and visitors into the place of hallowed worship and exalted praise.  They are servants of Christ doing the will of God from the heart as to the Lord while distributing to the needs of the saints with such gracious hospitality.
