Reverend Lorenzo T. Bennett

Reverend Lorenzo T. Bennett

Reverend Lorenzo T. Bennett is the second child born to Janice S. Bennett and the late Clarence G. Bennett, Sr. A proud native of Kenner, Louisiana, Reverend Bennett is a product of the Jefferson Parish School System having graduated from Bonnabel High School in 1996; subsequently, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge in 2001, and a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies from Louisiana State University in December 2017. In addition, Reverend Bennett obtained his Master of Ministry from Clamp Divinity School at Anderson University in 2022 and is currently pursuing his Doctor of Ministry degree at United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio.

Reverend Bennett’s Christian walk was guided by his grandfather, Reverend Leroy Sanders, Sr., pastor of Triumph Kingdom Builders Missionary Baptist Church. It was under his grandfather’s spiritual leadership that Reverend Bennett accepted his call to preach on July 19, 2003 and was licensed on September 19, 2003 after preaching his first sermon titled “Trust in Him” 2 Samuel 22:1-4 KJV. Reverend Bennett was then ordained March 21, 2008. For seventeen years, he faithfully served as an associate minister, Sunday School teacher and superintendent, Bible Study teacher, chaired various annual day programs, as well as lent a helping hand to other chairpersons. Helping his fellow brothers and sisters for the good of God’s body is of great importance to Reverend Bennett so that action is seen in the Word he preaches and teaches. Because of his faithfulness over these things, on February 24, 2020, God called Reverend Bennett to pastor Strangers Home Baptist Church, and he was officially installed on March 21, 2021.

Additionally, Reverend Bennett is a former employee of Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine where he was an intensive care unit technician. Currently, Reverend Bennett is owner and operator of Four Paws Pet Cremation Service, which he started March 2013. Even in this vocation, Reverend Bennett instills the Christian principles and character of love, compassion, and service.

When not in school or in service to others, Reverend Bennett enjoys hunting and fishing, taking in all the thrill rides when at amusement parks, and routing for “Dear Southern” as he is a dedicated alum of Jaguar Nation.

Lady Carrie L. Bennett, London Leigh, Gabrielle Johanna, and Rev. Lorenzo T. Bennett

On February 2, 2008, Reverend Bennett married the former Carrie LeAnn Johnson, and to this union they have been blessed with two daughters: Gabrielle Johanna and London Leigh. As a Christian, Reverend Bennett endeavors daily to walk worthy of that calling while being sensitive to the leadings of the Holy Spirit in his life, as well as allowing the light of God to show forth in all that he says and does.
